True SoxY end with the sequence GGCG(G), the swinging arm in which the Cys residue covalently binds the inorganic sulfur moiety. In this family, members end with a different swinging arm sequence, [AS]AC[IVT]E. The few species with a member of this family always have authentic SoxY. |
