CommentMembers of this family form the PrdB subunit, usually a selenoprotein, in the D-proline reductase complex. The usual pathway is conversion of L-protein to D-proline by a racemase, then use of D-proline as an electron acceptor coupled to ATP generation under anaerobic conditions.
