Comment | Members of this protein family are the PimC proteins of species such as Rhodopseudomonas palustris and Bradyrhizobium japonicum. The pimFABCDE operon encodes proteins for the metabolism of straight chain dicarboxylates of seven to fourteen carbons. Especially relevant is pimeloyl-CoA, basis of the gene symbol, as it is a catabolite of benzoyl-CoA degradation, which occurs in Rhodopseudomonas palustris. |
