CommentTrypanothione, a glutathione-modified derivative of spermidine, is (in its reduced form) an important antioxidant found in trypanosomatids (Crithidia, Leishmania, Trypanosoma). This model describes trypanothione reductase, a possible antitrypanosomal drug target closely related to some forms of glutathione reductase.
