AccessionGenProp0618
Namecytochrome (quinone) oxidase, bo type
TypeSYSTEM
DescriptionThe cytochrome bo complex is a quinol oxidase, oxygen reductase which functions in electron transfer chain of aerobic respiration in bacteria. The bo complex contains two heme b (protoheme IX) molecules designated b562 and b595 as well as an active site copper atom. This complex is structurally analagous to the aa3-type cytochrome c oxidases [1] which contains cytochromes a and copper.
